The fact that the iPad Internet tablet from Apple sports a 9.7-inch tablet might prove to be quite a boon for some people (especially those avid for screen space), but others might feel that using the device can grow into a less-than-comfortable experience, and in order to alleviate this problem, a company called FreeOneHand has just unveiled an iPad holder and stand going by the same name that delivers a higher level of comfort during use.

According to the company that developed it, the FreeOneHand lets users comfortably hold their iPad in one hand, freeing the other for making presentations, data entry, sending emails, reading to kids, experiencing magazines, surfing the web and more.

Plus, the secure grip eliminates the worry of dropping the iPad, and "raised feet" protect the display when set screen side down.

Furthermore, it seems that the manufacturer also consulted ergonomics specialists when developing the FreeOneHand, since its Patent Pending "Power Grip" uses 5 times less energy than a typical "pinch grip" to hold the iPad.

Weighing only 2.3 ounces (.065 kilograms) FreeOneHand's lightweight elastomer construction offers enough rigidity to hold a 1.6 pound iPad, while keeping a rubber-like softness for comfort during use.

FreeOneHand also provides a comfortable typing position, when used as a stand and grips any surface, protecting the iPad from falls.

All in all, we'd have to say that the FreeOneHand does provide quite a few attractive features, although, to be perfectly honest, it doesn't really come up with anything that we haven't seen before in other products (apart from the texture, we'd have to actually touch and use thing thing in order to draw a conclusion).

The FreeOneHand comes in 6 different colors, namely Bright White, Silver, Ebony, Lime Green, Sky Blue and Rose Pink and is available for $39.94, which is not that bad a price to pay for this thing, especially if it actually delivers the promised level of comfort.
