14 DAY TRIAL // UK residents looking to buy an iPad in the nearby future have an attractive offer to consider, with Orange UK announcing new purchase options for the Apple tablet, including more affordable Wi-Fi + 3G units when tied to a data plan.
For one reason or another, Orange UK doesn’t seem to be in a rush to get the offer out the door ahead of the holiday season.
Instead, the operator promises to have the new purchase options ready to go “in the coming months.”
Better late than never, as they say. Here’s the carrier’s official announcement:

A pre-Christmas rollout of the new offer would have proven fruitful, as the iPad is topping gift wish lists all around the world at the moment.
Furthermore, Apple’s just-released iOS 4.2 adds over a hundred new features to the slate-shaped device, including multitasking, the ability to organize applications in folders, a unified Mail inbox, support for AirPrint and AirPlay technologies, and other subtle, but equally important enhancements.
“iOS 4.2 brings multitasking from iPhone and iPod touch to iPad,” Apple explains on its web site.
“So you can be more productive as you work, have more fun as you play, or do a little of both. Everything happens smoothly and efficiently — without slowing down the performance of the foreground app or draining the battery unnecessarily.”
Speaking about the Folders functionality, Apple adds:
