Imposition Wizard, a third-party Mac app that allows users ti easily transform their PDF files, has reached version 1.8, which features 2-up preview mode, allows to rotate sheets and define their default parameters, and reads bleed and trim data from source files.

Applications for Life announced the release of Imposition Wizard 1.8 minutes ago, touting it as a highly-recommended update to their professional level, standalone imposition software for Mac OS X.

“Version 1.8 features 2-up preview mode, reads bleed and trim data from source files, allows to rotate sheets and define their default parameters. It also brings many small improvements. Upgrade is free and highly recommended,” the company claims.

The official changelog can be found below:

· Bleed and trim information is being read from source PDF files; · Sheets can be rotated left, right or upside-down; · 2-up view mode added; · New "Defaults" section in Preferences allows to setup default sheet; · The support of quartz filters added; · User interface updated.

Imposition Wizard supports all main imposition schemes, including Booklet, N-Up, Step & Repeat, and Cut Stack.

The software has one flagship feature which allows it to display results in real time, as uses make modifications.

“It recalculates layout of sheet in real time after your change any parameter, so you will see the results of every step of your work,” Applications for Life explains. “Most of our competitors use ‘wizards’ that asks many questions and show the results only when you answered them all.”

Applications for Life believes that one of the main benefits of using Imposition Wizard is its standalone nature.

“You don’t need any third-party software to use Imposition Wizard,” the company states.

Other key features include the ability to embedd the app in workflows, as it supports AppleScript, professional-grade options, and a clean and easy user interface, just what you woul expect from a Macintosh program.

Imposition Wizard requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later and is a Universal Binary, meaning it is supported on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers.
