Fashion can be everything but, in those situations when it’s all you have left, one would assume a career change would be in order. New York-based fashion blogger PJ Gach has been out of a job since November and she’s turned to the Internet for help to pay rent.

It’s not uncommon for people to start campaigns online asking for donations to help them out of a pickle, but they usually need help on more pressing matters, like treatment to battle cancer or that sort of thing.

Gach wants people to pay her rent, as she says on her accounts on social media, including Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.

She lives in a 2-bedroom apartment in New York with just her dog. The rent is $1,700 (€1,303) a month but she says she would never even consider taking a roommate because of a previous experience with a “psychotic” one.

She doesn’t explain why she won’t take another job – she’s a freelance fashion blogger right now and it’s not enough to help her pay her back rent – but she insists she’s already done all in her power to get herself out of this situation.

The only alternative still left is the kindness of strangers.

“I have until the 24th to come up with $7700 [€5,903]. If you can donate anything, $1 [€0.76], $5 [€3.83] whatever so that I don’t become homeless, I would appreciate it,” she writes on her Tumblr.

She also says that, if she doesn’t get the money and she’d end up on the street, she would lose her dog – and she doesn’t want this to happen.

Like other people in need of financial assistance, Gach has also started her own campaign on GoFundMe.

Clearly, her tale of “woe” has failed to impress people because, so far, she’s raised exactly 0 bucks and, judging by some comments online, it’s not hard to understand why: she should just move to an apartment with a smaller rent or get a second, paying job until she’s back on as a full-time fashion blogger.
