The Sunnyvale super giant Yahoo launched a reloaded version of Yahoo messenger for Mac 3.0 beta which comes with hot new goodies for the Apple customers. Codenamed Beta 2, the new version of the instant messaging application includes support for the latest Mac OS X flavor, Leopard, which was set for release today. Moreover, it seems like Yahoo Messenger for Mac 3.0 Beta 2 is more stable although the first release of the application worked pretty fine. Personally, I tested it and I didn't encounter any problem or issue in a 30-minute chatting session so I guess the Yahoo team did a nice job with this special flavor of the instant messenger.

In case you download and install this new release, you might not notice any of the changes because there are no interface updates except a minor modification added to the image displayed in the chatting window. From now on, you can hide/show the contact images pressing the new button, no matter if you are chatting with a contact or during a conference session.

Moreover, Yahoo modified the chat room design, placing the connected users in the left part of the window while the 'Hide Images' button was moved in the top right corner. "Improved chat room layout, with the list of chatters in a left hand, scrollable panel with age/sex/location details available on hover (if the user is sharing his/her profile)" Sarah Bacon, Product Manager, wrote in a short change log.

Yahoo Messenger for Mac is pretty young on the Internet because the Sunnyvale company rolled out the first 3.0 beta only a few months ago while the first update was released today. No signs yet of a final application for Mac or Vista, this second one being one of the most awaited software solutions by the Internet consumers.
