Although the Xperia X1 was not yet released and it won't be until September this year, Sony Ericsson seems to already be working on new phones from the Xperia family.

A video teaser coming from Sony Ericsson was recently unveiled, showing two advanced full touchscreen handsets, but giving no details about them. Of course, we can easily see that the devices are created to bring a range of high-end multimedia, Web and communication features, but there's no certainty regarding them. Moreover, we can't be sure these are Xperia phones either, although they suit almost perfectly the "Xperia style", so it's kind of impossible that they're part of a different Sony Ericsson series.

While the X1 can be considered a bit bulky, the new devices are pretty slim, that's probably because (unlike the X1) they will not feature full QWERTY keyboards. Moreover, we can observe some PSP-like logos in the video, which could mean the much-rumored Sony Ericsson PSP phone is actually one of the new Xperia devices.

According to the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog, during the JavaOne 2008 conference held at the beginning of this month, it was confirmed that one of the devices in the teaser video will be released this year. The confirmation comes from Rikko Sakaguchi who is the Senior Vice-President and also the Head of Product & Application Planning at Sony Ericsson, so this is a bit more than just a rumor.

The Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog also says the video is two years old, so the (supposed) new Xperia handsets could actually look different. Regardless of how they look, the fact that one of them will be launched in the near future is great news. This being said, watch the video below in the hope that Sony Ericsson will soon come with an official declaration on its future devices.
