Blizzard Entertainment has posted details on the upcoming World of Warcraft patch. The developer usually announces one on the verge of its release, so a new WoW patch should be available for Mac owners by the end of the month.

“In our next major content patch, druids will find a host of new textures for two major forms, cat and bear,” the maker of the world’s most popular MMORPG reveals on the official WoW web site.

Writing in the “under development” section, Blizzard continues to reveal the contents of the upcoming update to WoW, stressing that “There will be five different designs for each of these forms for the Horde and Alliance. Night elves can choose to change their cat and bear look at any time by visiting the barber shop and changing their character's hair color, while tauren will be able to change which look they use by switching skin tones in the barber shop – a new feature for tauren in the next major content patch.”

The company also decided to offer WoW fans an early glimpse at some new character artwork (available above), particularly the five new textures of the tauren druid bear form.

“We'll also show the current form design so you can easily see the extra detail and textures of the new art,” Blizzard adds. “Work continues on new looks for the remaining druid forms and we hope to add them in future content patches.”

These announcements come on the heels of Blizzard posting Patch 3.1.3 for World of Warcraft. Released earlier this week, the patch delivers improvements and tweaks for most character classes and dungeons, as well as the usual laundry list of bug fixes. It is yet unknown whether Blizzard's upcoming patch / update, will bring WoW to version 3.14.

Note

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade may require one or more patches before it is updated to the current version.
