Except from the fact that it is named just like the c0oL kids like to write stuff and pAwn everybody, wipEout HD is a great racing game, no matter what you say. And now, having all the technology available, it promises to bring back some great feelings in true high definition (1080p) at 60 frames per second - everything, of course, on the most next gen console of them all - the PlayStation 3.

As you know, if you played any wipEout game before, you will get the opportunity to race at some blazing speeds and experience the combat racing genre in an adrenaline pumping game. The HD version of the game will bring you some of the best tracks from the previous versions, all of them revamped and re-worked, in order to showcase the full power of the PS3. And for the first time, players will have the option to navigate their ships utilizing the Sixaxis wireless controller's motion sensing technology.

Additionally, you will have a multiplayer mode available, where up to 8 players will be able to compete against each other in a series of online races. Everything will be accompanied by some songs from the wipEout pulse soundtrack, all of them remixed for a 5.1 Dolby surround feeling (think about Kraftwerk, Booka Shade and Noisia)

Among the other great feature this combat racing title offers, you will have a score posting option that allows you to post your best lap times and race records in game and compare them against other wipEout players across the globe and, of course, a full arsenal of weapons - including a brand and destructive leech beam. If you would like to listen to some of your favorite tracks, it is possible, too, since the game will allow you to playback your own music using play lists created in the PS3 XMB and, if you really like what you see, you can anytime enter the Photo Mode, take a photo (or screenshot, to use the gamer's term) and have it on your HDD.

WipEout is a PS3 exclusive game, with a rating pending and a release date "to be announced".
