It might be free, just as the original ChevronWP7 app was

Windows Phone users can now unlock their devices, in the event they wanted to install on them software that is not available via the official portal, the Windows Phone Marketplace. A new way of doing that will soon become available for them.

At the moment, users can benefit from unlocked devices either when signing to a developer account, or after paying $9 to the ChevronWP7 team for unlocking their devices.

However, chances are that they will soon be able to unlock their Windows Phones without paying said toll, something that might not be completely unfamiliar to some.

Windows Phone Hacker has just posted on Twitter that users interested in unlocking their devices should wait a bit longer before heading over to ChevronWP7 Labs for that.

They will be able to save 9 bucks, it seems. For the time being, however, no specific info on what that is all about has emerged.
