Very hush-hush and extremely select

Microsoft has new Windows 7 Builds cooking for testing under the translucent veil of the operating system's development process. The Redmond company is currently using the millions of Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 installations to harvest the vast majority of end user feedback for the next iteration of the Windows client. But just because Windows 7 is evolving from Beta to Release Candidate does not mean that the software giant can't have a “little action on the side.” In this regard, the company is preparing very hush-hush, and extremely select testing programs for localized versions of the platform.

You have already been able to read about the mini-Beta test program for the Russian flavor of Windows 7 right here on Softpedia. Well, the mini-Beta is by no means limited to the Russian market. In fact, there is no telling just how much the testing of localized variants of Windows Vista's successor stretches. Localized copies of Windows 7 are also planned for testing in Sweden.

Andreas Stenhall, Microsoft certified technology specialist, confirmed that a limited number of people would test drive the Swedish language flavor of Windows 7. “I’ve had the chance to offer around 70 slots to users for participating in the beta testing of the localized Windows 7 in Swedish. The interest in this opportunity was amazing and all the slots got filled up really fast. Now, we are all eager for the beta test to actually start,” Stenhall stated.

As is the case for the Russian version of Windows 7, testing of the Swedish variant has yet to get the green light. Microsoft not only did not reveal the date at which testers will be getting the localized bits for Windows 7, but in fact failed to breathe a word about the program through its official channels.

With the exception of detailing changes implemented in Windows 7 as the operating system progressed from Beta to Release Candidate, the Redmond company offered little else on the actual development process of the operating system. The latest information leaked into the wild offered confirmation that Windows 7 had evolved all the way to Build 7070 in the Release Candidate branch.
