Since we've talked quite enough about the 3D HDTVs launched at CES 2011, it's perhaps a good idea to also check out some of the 3D projectors unveiled on this occasion, such as the brand-new D512-3D, D536-3D and the D538-3D models from Vivitek, that also come packed with 2D to 3D conversion technology. In other words, the new projectors from Vivitek will be able to upconvert standard DVD and Blu-Ray content (via HDMI) to 3D (via DLP Link from Texas Instruments), while also being able to display 3D content at 720p/1080i resolutions at 50/60Hz and 1080p at 24Hz from 3D Blu-Ray players or other 3D sources, such as cable or satellite boxes.

The D512-3D has a native SVGA (800x600) resolution, the D536-3D sports an XGA (1024x768 pixels) resolution, while the D538-3D reaches WXGA (1280x800).

Moreover, the D512-3D offers an 2600 lumens brightness, while both D536-3D and D538-3D reach 3200 lumens, all three projectors delivering a 3000:1 contrast ratio.

Plus, the projectors offer plenty of connectivity options, including HDMI, VGA, S-Video, Composite, RS-232, Mini-Jack audio-in and RCA audio-in.

“This latest technology represents a breakthrough for both the consumer and Vivitek,” said Christopher Yang, senior product manager at Vivitek.

“We’ve packed a lot of features and technologies into the D512-3D, D536-3D and D538-3D projectors, all within a compact design. Now, with the 2D to 3D built-in conversion, consumers are able to enjoy 3D content without needing to purchase or set up an external box,” added Mr. Yang.

“These projectors offer great image quality, a variety of connections for multiple video sources, and they are 3D-ready to ensure next generation content can be enjoyed now,” the company's rep concluded.

The three new projectors from Vivitek are slated to become available in May 2011, the estimated MSRPs ranging between US$899.00 and US$1,299.00.
