After taking a look at Sony's S Series and C Series notebooks earlier today, it's now about time to go to the Japanese company's third announcement for today, namely the Vaio L Series 24-inch AIO PC, designed specifically for multimedia playback.

One of the most important selling points of the new Vaio L series system is, without a doubt, its 24-inch, LED-backlit, Full HD and multi-touch display, that will let users enjoy all sorts of content at a very good quality, but also provide them with a much easier way of controlling the AIO PC.

And as if the large touchscreen wasn't enough, Sony also added another interesting innovation to this all-in-one system, called "Edge Access", that consists of touch-sensitive areas placed all around the screen's bezel, providing fast and easy access to all sorts of functions.

The system also sports a serious audio system, with S-Force Front Surround 3D, that helps create the illusion of surround sound, as well a huge array of networking and connectivity options, whether we're talking about HDMI, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Plus, in order to cater for the L Series' multimedia playback requirements, Sony has built it around the Sandy Bridge Intel Core i7 or i5 processors, accompanied by an GeForce GT 540M graphics unit from NVIDIA.

And since we're talking about a system designed mostly for multimedia consumption, it's also worth noting that it offers quite a bit of RAM memory (starting with 8GB), plus some pretty generous built-in HDDs (starting at around 1TB).

Last, but certainly not least, we'll also have to mention that the new L Series AIO PC offers users the chance to engage in good-quality video conversations, via the built-in HD webcam featuring Sony's Exmor sensor technology.

While pricing details for the new L Series AIO PC lineup have not yet been provided, the Japanese company does inform us that the new systems should be available across Europe at some point in March 2011.
