Singapore gets landed with the BDP-140, BDP-440 and BDP-LX55

Blu-ray players are more or less the most advanced form of media players to date, especially when they have HDDs as well, and while Pioneer's newest creations don't have this built-in storage, they do have everything else.

Pioneer seems to be doing something similar to what it did back in September, when it created the BDP-140, the Elite BDP-52FD and the Elite BDP-53FD.

Basically, the BDP-140, along with two different others (BDP-440 and BDP-LX55) are making their way to Singapore.

Then again, it would be more accurate to say that the BDP-140 is already available, while the other two are bound to show up at the end of the ongoing month (October 2011), or later.

All three handle a variety of media formats (MKV, DivX, PlusHD, WMV, WMA and MP3) while the LX55 has FLAC support as a bonus.

Furthermore, they can playback 3D movies and perform slideshows of JPEG images (photos and the like).

Their capabilities extend beyond the regular media player features, however, and this includes PC connectivity and network support.

Streaming from YouTube can be accomplished by hooking up the player to a computer, and this comes in addition to the regular network connectivity.

What's more, Pioneer made it possible to link the players to a wireless network as well, through an optional converter (the AS-WL200 adapter).

Other specifications of interest are DLNA certification (allows for streaming of DNLA files from PCs, networks and media servers), HDMI and Picasa Viewing (for photo albums).

Go here to check out the BDP-140, the only one of the three that is already selling. The BDP-440 will start selling at the end of October, while BDP-LX55 won't show up until November (2011).

In the meantime, prospective buyers can prepare or increase their BD collection for when they celebrate the players' arrival with an all-nighter (or not).
