CD Projekt Red has just released a brand new and extremely brutal gameplay video from The Witcher 3, depicting not just plenty of fights with main protagonist Geralt of Rivia but also a few brief sequences with the secondary playable character, Ciri, and her blazing fast magic attacks.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to debut later this month, and in anticipation of its long-awaited release, developer CD Projekt Red has rolled out a huge number of new details, screenshots, videos, and more.

A brand new video focuses on the brutal combat

The latest of which has just been released, in the form of a video called Rage & Steel, which focuses primarily on the gory combat that's possible in the upcoming role-playing experience.

As you can see in the impressive footage, Geralt can employ a variety of brutal attacks against his enemies, often resulting in big slashes, not to mention decapitations and other gory outcomes.

The video also shows off Geralt going up against different imposing monsters, which requires him to use the various magic signs to their full potential in order to gain the upper hand.

The video also depicts Ciri's magical abilities

However, it's important to watch the video until the end, as it also includes the first gameplay sequences with the secondary character Ciri. She is shown employing a new type of magic to teleport between enemies and slice them in half.

While the game mostly allows players to take control of main protagonist Geralt of Rivia, seeing as how it concludes his trilogy of adventures, CD Projekt Red revealed last year that Ciri, the mysterious young girl he's been raising with Yennefer, would also be playable during certain sequences.

So far, the studio has only mentioned that she'll be a much more agile character than Geralt, and it seems that she'll also employ powerful magic.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt debuts worldwide on May 19 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
