Telltale Games confirms that fans of its The Walking Dead adventure series are going to receive more such content in the future, ahead of a full-fledged Season 3 of new episodes to go through, but declines to pin any actual release dates for all these things.

Telltale Games made many fans with some solid adventure experiences a few years ago, but the studio really entered the mainstream with The Walking Dead, an episodic adventure game series that took place in the universe crafted by Robert Kirkman with his great comic books.

The Walking Dead Season 3 is coming in the future

Since then, two whole seasons appeared, as well as a DLC chapter called 400 Days, and Telltale talks at SXSW, via GameSpot, the future of the series and how a third season is going to appear at some point in time.

The new series will of course deliver some interesting adventures, but considering Telltale is currently working on several projects at once, such as Game of Thrones or Tales from the Borderlands, it won't arrive anytime soon.

As such, Telltale's Job Staiffer confirms that, until season 3 rolls around, new content in The Walking Dead series will appear as separate experiences, similar to 400 Days, which span the gap between season 1 and season 2.

"There will be a third season of The Walking Dead at some point. We don't know when yet, but yes, that is a thing. Oh, man, I'm going to get an email about this. [The Walking Dead Season 3 is] not necessarily something you can expect to see super, super, super soon. But I think you can perhaps, maybe, expect to see The Walking Dead again sooner, if that makes sense," he mentions.

As such, fans of Telltale's adventure project should look forward to smaller, self-contained episodes in the future, probably after the current seasons of Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands conclude.
