For those who see organizing their documents, no matter if they're private or official, as an ordeal, as well as for those who are gone geese when having to imagine a nice layout for their engagement party invitations or for their resumes, Google is salutary. A new gallery of 309 templates, that can be used for everything from wrapping up holiday photos to planning a loan amortization schedule, is now available. People can use the applications for free and have their documents stored online.

"When researching how people use templates, we saw that lots of you create documents for all aspects of your lives. You need resumes and cover letters to look for jobs and fax cover letters and invoices to run your businesses. And of course you want to use documents in fun ways with family and friends, such as unique designs and layouts for invitation cards and calendars. Finally, everyone wants to be able to have tools that 'just work': print mailing labels, track portfolio values, and manage projects without having to painstakingly create documents from scratch," explained Valerie Blechar, Templates Engineer at Google Docs, as to what the reasons behind the project were.

An interesting feature brought by the new templates is the fact that they can be operated by more than one person at a time. A common spreadsheet can be used from different computers to add items on the grocery list of a household, or to affix the contact details of the new business partners in an enterprise.

In order to bring the project into existence, Google relied on the help of four partners: Avery Dennison, a company specialized in office products and solutions; Vertex 42, which produces Excel templates, calculators and calendars; TemplateZone, a provider of template tools and designs for Microsoft Office, and Visa Business, an online location where small companies can connect and reach millions of potential customers.
