The Pinch interface joins mobile devices together into one big screen

Since all smartphones and tablets today have touchscreens, some people from the Tokyo University of Technology figured they might as well do something to join them together.

Their idea was that video walls or tables could be created anywhere, and at any time, just by gathering all the mobile gadgets in sight.

The Pinch interface makes it all happen. Though it currently works only on iOS devices (Apple iPhone and iPad), it should eventually be adapted for other software too.

With WiFi keeping the devices synchronized, the single display mode can be activated by performing a pinch gesture between at least two of the gadgets.

Developers are allowed to take the Pinch technology and base their own apps off it, so we should see extra-large creative apps, multiplayer games and new forms of communications soon.
