Given the fact that there are plenty of people out there who carry data on HDDs and/or SSDs and don't really want to be bothered with opening and closing their computer cases each and every single time they wish to attach a new storage unit to their system, StarTech has just introduced two new SATA docking solutions that enable users to dock no less than four different hard or solid-state drives at the same time. As the company informs us, both products (SATDOCK4U3E and SATDOCK4U2E, respectively) offer USB and eSATA host connections, as well as support for 2.5” and/or 3.5” Serial ATA hard drives or Solid State Drives (SSDs).

As its name points out, the SATDOCK4U3E SuperSpeed single connection dock comes packed with an USB 3.0 interface, as well as an eSATA one, enabling data transfer rates of up to 5Gbps and 3Gbps, respectively, depending on the connection of choice.

Furthermore, the device sports dual variable-speed cooling fans, as well as independent power buttons and drive eject buttons for quick, easy hot-swapping of any of the docked drives.

The SATDOCK4U2E model, on the other hand, enables access to four 2.5”/3.5” SATA drives, from multiple computers (which makes it particularly interesting for an office environment, for example), featuring a Dual High Speed USB 2.0 host interfaces with support for transfer rates up to 480 Mbps and four high speed eSATA host interfaces with supported transfer rates up to 3 Gbps.

Similar to the U3E model, the U2E also comes equipped with dual cooling fans and independent power buttons and drive eject buttons.

Both products are already available as we speak, either directly from the company or via their usual retail partners, and sell for some fairly interesting and attractive price points, namely US$189.99 for the SATDOCK4U3E and around US$186.99 for the SATDOCK4U2E.
