Xbox 360 owners may be interested to know that LucasArts will put up for sale Star Wars costumes and props soon on the Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace. The reason for this new offering from George Lucas' game studio is the fact that it's the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: the Empire Strikes Back. The pricing has not been mentioned yet.

The costumes announced are: Imperial snow trooper (male and female); Boba Fett (male and female); Lando costume with cape (male); Chewbacca (male and female); Rebel snow speeder pilot (male and female); Han Solo Hoth outfit (male); Leia Hoth outfit (female); Bossk (male and female); C-3PO (male and female); AT-AT pilot (male and female).

The props: Tauntaun pet; Baseball cap with Yoda ears (male and female); Lightsaber.

In other Star Wars game-related news, LucasArts is currently hard at work on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. This sequel will put gamers again in the skin of Starkiller, Darth Vader's ex-apprentice. While details about the new installment in the series have yet to surface, Darell Rodriguez, LucasArts' president, promises an interesting story and an even greater scale for the action as compared to the original title.

However, the main focus of Star Wars fans with respect to interactive media remains BioWare's Star Wars: the Force Unleashed. A massively multiplayer online role-playing game, it will offer a new angle on the Star Wars universe. The game's setting, thousands of years before George Lucas' movies, and its huge scale give BioWare's writers the freedom to produce new and interesting stories. The fact that BioWare will let the players influence each others' adventures makes this MMO a very intriguing proposition. Fans are very eager to find out if this redefinition of user interaction in an online gaming experience will really be successful. The tentative release window for BioWare's possibly groundbreaking title is sometime in Spring 2011.
