One issue that portable and small entertainment devices usually have to deal with is humidity, whether from rain or perspiration, so Sony decided to make its newest walkman water-resistant.

Nowadays, there are so many things that can play the part of multimedia companion that one can consider it staggering.

Even highly portable electronics come in such a great variety that anyone and everyone can find something to their tastes.

Not only are there base devices of different kinds (MP3 players, MP4 players, PMPs etc) but those, in turn, come in a myriad of shapes, sizes, colors and performance configurations.

In this particular instance, it is Sony that is making the news, having designed a one-piece W Series Walkman MP3 player that should suit sports enthusiasts best, what with its build that lets it endure for a full day of workout and more.

The reason the company describes things is way is the fact that the one-piece, small gadget is water-resistant, meaning that it will not be phased when people start breaking a sweat.

The product is rinsable and features Content Transfer software, meaning that it can easily take music files form iTunes for Windows Media Player and, so long as it is DRM-free, Windows Explorer as well.

Besides the above, there is one extra asset that Sony made a point of mentioning in its press release, which can be read in full on its official website, here.

That asset is the quick-charge function, which lets it accumulate enough energy to run for 6 minutes within the span of just three.

Sony Style retail stores should already have the NWZ-W260 up for order, with either 2 GB of storage space (NWZ-W262, $59.99) or a capacity of 4 GB (NWZ-W263, $79.99). Finally, black and white colors can be chosen and a full battery can run for up to 8 hours straight.
