TV-based video conferencing not dead just yet, or so the company hopes

If the FCC's latest filing is genuine, and it is, then Logitech is actively encouraging the market for TVs with built-in videoconferencing hardware and pre-installed software.

Logitech tried to make people interested in TVs that can act like videophones, but the TV Cam and the Revue didn't make the cut in the end.

The company isn't ready to throw in the towel though. Instead, it is getting ready to launch a new TV Cam HD.

In addition to the FCC, there was a Vimeo video and a Best Buy listing showing the incoming product.

Both of those entries are now gone though. Fortunately, the folks at Zatz Not Funny! made a note of the price and likeliest ETA.

The TV Cam HD will supposedly start shipping within 30 days, for $200 / 163 Euro.
