The market is full of Baby Monitors that only have a camera and you have to check constantly to make sure your kid is OK. A team of former Apple and Google employees founded a company that deals with that problem and they have found the best way to monitor your baby.
Sproutling not only monitors the vitals of the new-born, but it can sense, learn and even predict how much your baby is going to sleep. Sproutling Baby Monitor looks like a bracelet you attach to the new born's foot and it links to your iPhone.
The designers have thought of all the details. The baby wearable band has a smart charger and a mobile app and everything works together to predict your baby's sleep habits and optimal sleep conditions.
The sensors in Sproutling monitor heart rate, skin temperature, motion and position. It also communicates constantly with the app on your iPhone. The device itself is encapsulated in a medical grade silicon and it has a shape that will not present a chocking hazard should your baby will detach it from his ankle. However, the band is detachable and it can be washed multiple times as well as changed to a larger size when your baby grows.
It has a wireless charger cradle. You only have to leave it on the round base and it will start charging sans-wires. But the charger is also a way to monitor the room conditions. The bracelet will continue to work, but it will not sense the baby's vital signs. When on the charger, Sproutling will detect room temperature and humidity, sound and light levels.
The app on your iPhone makes the device even smarter. It will learn your baby's sleep habits and alert you when he will wake up even before he does. If your baby is up before the estimated time you will know that thanks to the sound alerts. The developers say you will know if he is calm or angry before you walk into the room.
You will also be alerted if there's a problem with your baby's pulse, temperature or if he rolled over.
Sproutling Baby Monitor can be preordered now for $249 (€185.90) and it will be shipped to customers in early 2015. The first shipment is already more than half gone. After the preorder time is done, Sproutling will be sold in retail chains for $299 (€223.23).
