New track indicates a mellow mood for the upcoming album

This is already the second track being released by the band Coldplay, and already a pattern is beginning to emerge as far as their new album, “Ghost Stories,” is concerned.

If last week the band released “Midnight” upon the unsuspecting world, and everyone thought that the trippy-spacey song was just a one-off, with “Magic,” it's becoming evident that the entire “Ghost Stories” is going to be sort of down-tempo, something a bit unusual for the boys that have made their fortune with songs with big choruses and powerful melodic lines.

“Magic” was billed as the track that was going to spearhead the release of their sixth studio album, after their 2011 effort, “Mylo Xyloto.” Admittedly, it sounds a bit more like the Coldplay we were used to, whereas “Midnight” gravitated more towards a trance or chill out song.

There is an electronic beat that sounds oddly familiar when paired with a piano and Chris Martin's high pitched vocals, as well as fain R&B-influenced sound. The British have just released the full track listing for the album which is going to include seven other songs apart from the two track already released.

“Ghost Stories” is going to drop on May 19, and is already available for pre-order on iTunes. Anyone who pre-orders the entire album, gets an instant download of the single “Magic.”
