With months to go until the official release, “Terminator: Salvation” is probably one of the most hyped films of the moment, which is why pressure for it to come out brilliantly is also huge on director McG and the rest of the crew. However, judging from the latest movie stills and the artwork made available, if this movie ends up by disappointing anyone, it will clearly not be for lack of trying, it has been said.

ScreenWeek has received no less that four new movie stills from the set of “Terminator: Salvation,” with all of them promising one ride that will be worth the wait. Two of them show Moon Bloodgood, who plays Blair Williams, while the other two rapper Common, who will take on Barnes, both members of the Resistance, hardened by years of fighting. Williams is described as “a no-nonsense and battle-hardened member of the resistance suffering from survivor guilt.”

The artwork also made available the other day to Wired show McG’s vision on the Terminator and the machinery and weaponry used in the ultimate battle for Earth. The images are nothing short of breathtaking, it is being underlined, hinting at the incredible amount of time spent working on this film, so that it turns out to be precisely what fans have been waiting for for so long.

McG for one, is more than aware of the challenge laying ahead of him, as he recently pointed out that getting to work on this project was no walk in the park, given what he did with “Charlie’s Angels.”

“It’s critical to push the visual effects forward in this film. In Terminator 2, when Robert Patrick’s head came apart, that’s pushing it forward. So we hired Charlie Gibson who’s won two Academy Awards and did Gore Verbinski’s last four or five movies. He’s up there at [Industrial Light & Magic] cooking up a few things that I can say in fairness will go beyond viewers’ expectation.” McG told the media in relation to the visual effects the world should expect from “Terminator: Salvation.”

Until the film hits theaters on May 22, fans have the many promo materials to keep them interested. Go here for more movie stills, and here for more artwork from “Terminator: Salvation.”
