Although the rapid rise of Internet tablets (including some hybrid, netbook-like devices, such as the Asus Slider) is a direct threat to netbooks, it seems that this category is not dead yet, as Samsung proves by introducing yet another product of this type, the NC210.

Around a year or so ago, everyone believed that netbooks, with the help of the economic crisis, would seriously affect the notebook market, but it seems that this particular brand of low-power, ultra-portable products will become just another page in the neverending history of consumer electronics a whole lot earlier than expected.

However, the advent of Internet and multimedia tablets has pretty much changed all of that, these even smaller and more portable devices targeting roughly the same market segment as netbooks, and actually bringing a plus of mobility.

Now, back to the new NC210 netbook from Samsung, spotted by TCMagazine, we'll have to say that it offers a rather standard configuration as far as the latest-generation netbooks are concerned, built around an Atom N550 (1.5 GHz) dual-core processor from Intel.

Additionally, the 10.1-inch portable computing system, that also sports a very interesting “silver” case will also offer users a 250GB hard drive and GMA 3150 integrated graphics (so don't expect any miracles from it), pumping pixels to the SuperBright LED-backlit display with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution.

Naturally, since we're talking about an ultra-portable system designed for road-warriors, this thing also packs multiple networking and connectivity options, with the Bluetooth 3.0 module being the most notable one, as well as either 3-cell or 6-cell battery options.

It seems that the new Samsung NC210 netbook is already available for pre-order in certain parts of Europe (Germany, at least) starting at around 350 Euro, which, by all accounts, is quite a fair price to pay for such a device.
