The popular remote access application LogMeIn Ignition has just been updated with new features that add more remote access capabilities to Android tablets. Developed by LogMeIn, Inc. the new app is available as a free update to existing users.

Designed for Android tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, LogMeIn Ignition introduces a wide range of new features for Android tablet and smartphone users.

“The growing popularity of tablets has introduced new demand for utilizing the capabilities of a user's PC or Mac, while also benefiting from the mobility and flexibility benefits derived from tablets. LogMeIn Ignition for Android offers a best of both worlds approach, blending mobility with performance,” said Andrew Burton, LogMeIn's vice president, Access & Management.

“Our goal is simple: Give our users the freedom to access their entire digital world from virtually anywhere,” added Burton.

Some of these new features include:

- Wake-On-LAN: Wake up sleeping computers to maintain productivity while reducing power consumption - Remote sound: Listen to remote PCs running LogMeIn Pro - RSA login support - JPEG support for higher quality and faster rendering - Multi-monitor switching: Switch between multiple monitors using a three-finger swipe. According to the developer, LogMeIn Ignition enables users to remotely access and control their PC or Mac directly from a mobile device or tablet, thus providing easy access to files, data and applications, while on the go.

Once purchased and downloaded from either the Android Market or the Verizon V CAST app store, a single instance of the app can be used on multiple Android devices.

The LogMeIn Ignition for Android app can be downloaded from Google's Android Market and the Verizon V CAST market for a one-time charge of $29.99.

As mentioned before, the latest update released is available as a free download for existing Ignition for Android owners.
