Razer does many things, but if there were one general description, it would be that the company is a provider of hardware devices and peripherals good for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts.

The newest products that came out of its labs are, indeed, peripherals. Headphones in fact, called Razer Hammerhead and Razer Hammerhead Pro.

They have powerful drivers with 9 mm Neodymium Magnets with CCAW, with a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz and impedance of 16 Ohms.

The audio product also benefits from interchangeable ear tips, an omnidirectional microphone, an Audio/Mic splitter adapter for PC connection, and a sensitivity of 106 dB at 1 kHz.

What's more, Razer included an in-line remote that not only handles the volume, but can accept and end calls from mobile phones.

"With numerous mobile PC gaming systems emerging, peripherals that offer both great performance and portability on-the-go are what make the experience complete," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director.

"The Razer Hammerhead and Hammerhead Pro's unrivaled durability and deep bass tones are fantastic for any gamer or music listener with an active lifestyle."

Razer's new headphones use advanced passive noise isolation to make sure that music sounds clearly in your ears even when you're taking a jog outside.

As for endurance, the machined, lightweight aluminum body should last for quite a while.

Razer Hammerhead and Hammerhead Pro headphone sets, with their "supreme audio fidelity with extreme bass," are compatible with PCs, Apple iPhones, Android smartphones, and basically everything else that uses 3.5 mm jacks.

Orders should already be underway for $49.99 / €49.99 through the company's website. The product page has more details for those interested.

Keep in mind, though, that shipments won't start until next month (August 2013). Until then, you're stuck with whatever you already have, unless you buy some other audio outlet.
