It is common for makers of high-end hardware to leverage the following of certain multimedia phenomenon when making new products, so the new line of gaming products from Razer probably won't come across as too surprising.

The capabilities of hardware components usually speak enough to determine the appeal of one product or another.

Nevertheless, the design and visual embellishments have come to hold a great deal of weight in end-users' ultimate purchase decision.

Creating a theme that will appeal to users can be a tad bit tricky at times, so companies like Razer often go with what works.

One such thing that works is fashioning a device or another with a theme inspired from a movie or game.

Thus is was that Razer created new DeathAdder mice, four laptop cases and a Vespula mouse surface inspired from the Transformers: Dark of the Moon film.

The four DeathAdder mice are colored red, yellow, grey (silver) and purple, these being the colors worn by Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Shockwave, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Transformers 3 Laptop Sleeve Cases have the same colors as above, use hard but flexible plastic shells, a padded inner lining and sell for $49.99

Finally, the Vespula mouse pad (300 (L)x 240 (W)x 4 (H) mm) offers two surfaces, the Autobots SPEED one (smooth and fast-paced swiping) and the Decepticons CONTROL surface (for control). It has a gel-filled writs rest and a price of $44.99.

The aforementioned mice sell for $69.99 each and boast 3,500 dpi Razer Precision 3.5 G infrared sensors, gold-plated USB connectors, right-handed design and five programmable Hyperesponse buttons each, plus braided cables of seven feet. The official page can be found here.

What remains is to see if any of Razer's rivals decide to emulate this decision and bring forth their own film-inspired peripherals and accessories.
