As far as monitors go, Iiyama launches them on a fairly regular basis, even if most, if not all of them, never really make it beyond the borders of Japan.

The latest addition is the ProlIte Series XB2483HSU, with a screen diagonal of 24 inches and a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Nothing new there. Full HD is standard now.

What is unusual is the screen itself, the AMVA+ panel with 178/178-degree viewing angles, much like those of IPS panels.

LED backlighting is used as well, and Iiyama even tossed in a pair of speakers (2W each) and a 2-port USB hub.

For those who want to know the rest of the technical details, Iiyama's latest creation boasts a contrast ratio of 3,000:1 (dynamic contrast ratio is 5,000,000:1), VGA/DVI/HDMI connectors, and a response time of 4ms, which is better than average.

Sales of ProLite XB2483HSU should already be underway for 27,800 yen / $280 / €206. A 3-year warranty is included.
