Antec expands its line of TruePower Quattro PSUs

Although technology is moving towards a more optimum power efficiency, focusing on becoming “greener,” that is, less power-draining, there is still a demand for powerful PSUs, with many desktop configurations using multiple storage units besides the usual PCIe cards (whether they are graphics adapters or something else). In response to this desire for a strong power supply, Antec developed a new TruePower Quattro model, the TPQ-1200.

As the name suggests, the PSU is capable of providing enough electrical resources for any machine, being capable of throwing out as much as 1.2kW. It manages to do so and still remain stable through the use of the PowerCache high-performance capacitor. Truly, this product is capable of giving out as much energy as that otherwise being used by an entire room, but it does so without any major waste. The PSU is 80Plus Silver-certified, meaning it has an efficiency of over 85%.

The device can easily bear the brunt of the SLI and CrossFire technology and supports even the latest quad-core processors. The temperature of the TPQ-1200 is kept low and stable by an 80mm PWM fan, which is allegedly 50% more quiet than most standard voltage-controlled fans. In addition, it has 12V rails, each capable of 38A.

Truly capable of fueling any of these days' monsters, the TPQ-1200 from Antec will provide a strong and stable power flow to anyone who doesn't shrink from filling their rig to the brim with all the parts they can find. This PSU will make a great companion to the new GeForce GT 240 series of NVIDIA-based graphics adapters and the Radeon HD 5970 that were recently launched.

The TPQ-1200 is available on the market, is sold at a recommended price of $299.99 and comes with no less than three years of warranty.
