Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has been long rumored to plan the release of an successor for its Xperia X10 mini devices, and some new photos with what was said to be the new flavor of X10 mini pro emerged.

The handset, allegedly dubbed Sony Ericsson SK17i Xperia Mango, seems to be a fashionable device that would certainly conquer the hearts of many users out there.

The mobile phone was spotted into the wild before, and some info on its possible specifications emerged as well, but nothing was confirmed on it for the time being.

However, it seems that Sony Ericsson might be set to launch yet another great device in the Xperia lineup, complementing the phones that have been already unveiled this year, including the Xperia arc, the Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, or the Xperia pro.

Rumor has it that the new Sony Ericsson SK17i Xperia Mango might be pushed to shelves with a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650 application processor inside, clocked in at 1GHz, and not with the MSM7230 chip the handset was previously reported to pack.

Moreover, the phone is said to arrive with a 3-inch touchscreen display that would boast a HVGA (320 x 480 pixel) resolution, and with a side sliding QWERTY keyboard, just as can be seen in the first photo to the left.

The phone's specifications list should include a 8.5-megapixel photo snapper as well, with auto focus and 720p HD video recording capabilities, as well as with 512MB of RAM, and 1GB of ROM. It would run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform.

Rumor has it that Sony Ericsson might make the new device available in May, but, based on the fact that the company has already pushed back devices that it launched in February, we might see the small Android phone delayed as well.

However, since May is only several weeks away, we should be able to learn more info on the new device at that time, so stay tuned for more on this. In the meantime, have a look at the newly leaked photos with the device (via).
