With all the new hardware for gamers and enthusiasts coming out, be quiet! decided it was time to unleash a pair of new power supply lines, each including multiple models with differing wattages, so that they may appeal to as wide a consumer base as possible.

The two power supply series that be quiet! released go by the names of Straight Power E8 and Dark Power Pro P9.

The Dark power Pro P9 is the one aimed at the higher level of the consumer market, since it is composed of modular models with arguably high wattages.

The power supplies have actual wattages of 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W, 1,000W and 1,200W and all of them boast the 80Plus gold rating.

What this means is that they waste very little power, something essential on today's economy that puts special emphasis on the 'green' factor.

The series has other advantages, of course, such as 120mm Silver Wings fans, sleeved cables, four 12V rails and 105° C capacitors.

The other line of PSUs, the Straight Power E8 is more suited for the mainstream front, although it has some higher-end members of its own.

It is made up of both modular and non-modular units, the latter type being in higher number than the former.

The non-modular ones are of 400W, 450W, 500W, 550W, 600W and 700W, while the 480W, 580W and 680W are the modular versions.

These PSUs also feature 120mm Silent Wings fans and four 12V rails, except for the 400W model that settles for three.

All of then have 80Plus Silver certification and comply with the ATX V2.3 and EPS 12V V2.92 standards.

The Dark Power Pro P9 members will sell for between 149.90 Euro and 269.90 Euro, while the Straight Power E8 will go for 69.90 Euro to 149.90 Euro once they become available in November.
