They are fast and capacious, more so than almost every other SSD out there

PCI Express solid-state drives are naturally faster and have greater capacity that 2.5-inch, 3.5-inch and M.2/mSATA model. OCZ decided to go above and beyond the norm though, when it created the Z-Drive R4 series.

The SSDs are currently on display at the 2013 Intel Developer Forum (IDF), at Moscone Center, San Francisco, California.

Made for database, cloud management and virtualization, the SSDs are smaller than their predecessors, thus compatible with more platforms than ever.

They even support the Open Compute Project (OCP), a growing community of engineers around the world who are focused on designing and delivering efficient servers, storage and data center hardware designs.

Scalability is key for them, which means that the smaller form factor of the new SSDs will be well received. Smaller means more will fit in the same case/rack/tray.
