Microsoft is hard at work to enhance its Cloud productivity offerings with new capabilities enabling administrators to easily reset passwords.

The current password experience in Office 365 is not exactly optimal, to use a euphemism. However, this will change in the future.

There’s no telling just exactly when, but the Redmond company is looking for early adopters to join a new Office 365 Beta for the upcoming Password Reset feature.

“If you are an O365 administrator at your company, you may be aware that the Office 365 support experience is limited if you forget your password. Currently you are required to find another Office 365 administrator in your organization or contact Microsoft support in order to reset your password,” a member of the Office 365 team stated.

“Our engineering team has been working on a solution to enable self-service password reset and would like to enlist your participation in a beta program to evaluate the feature and provide feedback.”

Obviously, the Office 365 Password Reset Beta program is opened only to business customers looking to test drive the new feature.

The software giant has set up the Office 365 Self Service Password Reset Beta Signup, and is inviting potential early adopters to send emails to o365ssprbs at microsoft.com providing details about their companies in order to be considered as testers.

“For the beta we are seeking an equal number of small, medium, and large organizations from all geographies (i.e., US and International),” the Office 365 team member added.

“During the beta, organizations will be given access to a URL of the beta service, which will guide administrators through resetting their own passwords. We would immensely benefit from your feedback regarding ease of use as well as overall experiences (i.e. clarity of error messages etc). Prompt responses would be appreciated and allow us to make this feature available earlier.”
