Without a doubt, sports watches are not exactly the slimmest timepieces around, but the people over at Obaku seem to be willing to change this perception, since they'll soon be introducing what really seems to be the world's slimmest product of this type, namely the V140G model.

Obaku is a family of high-end watches designed by Denmark-based Christian Mikkelsen and Lau Liengaard Ruge, that manage to combine Danish watch design traditions and style with ZEN philosophy of simplicity.

As BornRich informs us, the new timepiece by Obaku will first be showcased at BaselWorld 2011 (some sort of CES or MWC for watchmakers), and will really tackle the world's slimmest title, although its designers have not provided any significant data regarding its dimensions just yet.

However, as you can plainly see from the photos, this thing will indeed be extremely thin, a lot thinner than we'd normally expect from a product in this category, while still maintaining an overall sporty look, whether we're talking about the bezel, hands or dial.

As the guys over at BornRich point out, one of the features that really brings a contribution to the overall feeling of slimness is the rather short index, the Obaku 140G featuring just a small square for an index, thus managing to further enhance the feeling of a clean and slim design.

Unfortunately, since the Obaku V140G sports watch is yet to be revealed to the world, there's really no word on its pricing just yet, so we're eagerly looking forward to find out just how much one will have to pay for such an exclusive, elegant, yet super-slim timepiece.

However, given the fact that we're talking about a designed watch with a rather unique look to it, we're pretty sure that it won't come cheap, targeting specifically those watch lovers who're ready to willing to cough up some pretty large amounts of money in order to get their hands on such gorgeous pieces of technology.
