With a 5-megapixel camera

The Nokia E71 just went live on AT&T's airwaves a few days ago in the form of E71x, and now we learn that there might be another version of the phone in the works for us, namely the Nokia E71i, a device that is reported to come sporting a 5-megapixel photo snapper, while also being able to deliver the S60 Feature Pack 2.

For what it's worth, a 5-megapixel camera on the highly-popular device will probably allow it to see much more traction on the market, not that it hasn't seen it already, as there were more than 10 million units of the Nokia E71 sold during the second half of the last year, which means that the handset was one of the most successful Nokia phones for 2008.

According to the news on the Web, the new Nokia E71i will only have the 5MP camera to differentiate its specifications from those that come with the rest of E71 units in the wild (sporting a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper), which is not a bad thing, considering that the handset is as good as it can be the way it is now.

And given the fact that the rumors also point towards the S60 FP2 being present with the device, things couldn't be better. The newly announced Nokia E71x available with AT&T has the FP2 as well, yet we learn that a new color scheme might surface along with it too, and there might be a brown/mocha color to make the distinction from other versions.

There are no images with the phone available at the moment, and no info on the availability either, yet it seems that the Finnish mobile phone maker might announce it officially sometime this fall, probably in October or in September at the Nokia World. Stay tuned to learn more details as soon as they surface.
