Nokia announced today the launch of a new CDMA phone, Nokia 2135, for users who need an affordable, reliable and easy-to-use handset. The phone combines satisfying features (but not high-class features) with a contemporary design and high reliability. With a full battery, the 2135 can provide 3.5 hours of talktime and 11 days of standby time, meaning that this handset is made to be a faithful companion. Also, the generous 400-entry phonebook will make sure that all your friends and family will always be close at hand.

"Many consumers are looking for a simple, affordable phone to keep them in touch with the people who mean the most to them, and the Nokia 2135 is designed with those consumers in mind," says Larry Paulson, senior vice president and general manager of Nokia's CDMA business group. "The large easy to read keys and familiar Nokia user interface makes the Nokia 2135 comfortable to use. The modern design and compact size makes it easy to carry, and the attractive price makes it easy to afford."

Nokia says that the 2135 phone was created with simplicity in mind but it also has a carefully selected range of useful features. The user-assignable ringtones for example will let you know who is calling without even looking at the phone, while the integrated speakerphone will allow the whole family or the whole gang of friends to join your conversation. A built in calendar helps you keep everyday life organized. There's also a built-in voice recorder that lets you store up to 1 minute of audio notes at a time.

According to Nokia, the handset will hit the North American market in November 2007 the latest, but there's no word about its price.
