Coming to add something to the increasingly packed market for gaming and enthusiast-grade hardware, Mushkin figured it would expand its existing series of DDR3 by adding a new dual-channel and a triple-channel solution.

It is a known custom among hardware makers to choose words that inspire awe when naming their product lines.

It is also well known that hardware makers will always find it useful to build on the popularity acquired by such titles, something proven quite effectively by Mushkin's newest RAM products.

What the company reportedly did was release a couple of additions for its Radioactive series of DDR3 RAM, one dual-channel kit and one triple-channel offering that is.

The former is a 4 GB kit composed of two 2 GB modules, while the latter is a triple-channel kit made of three similar modules.

As most so-called siblings, the newcomers have some things in common, such as the operating clock speed and the latencies, plus the voltage and cooling capability.

To be more specific, they work at 1,600 MHz and CL 7-9-7-24 while being powered by a current of 1.65 V.

As for the cooling, the Radioactive FrostByte Heatsink is used, a heatspreader colored an appropriate yellow.

The newcomers were specifically designed to work best on motherboards built upon the Intel LGA 1156 and LGA 1366 sockets.

According to the report that revealed that online stores should sooner rather than later start listing the newcomers.

The 4 GB dual-channel kit will sell for a price of roughly $67.49, while the 6 GB triple-channel one is said to have a price tag of $101.49.

With what can be seen as an arguably affordable price, all that remains is to wait and see just how long it takes for them to make it into systems and how successful they prove to be from there on.
