Monopoly has left the choice of a new token to its fans on Facebook, and the cat has been a crowd favorite. Players had other options to choose from, including a guitar, a helicopter or a robot.
According to UPI, the iron had been in circulation for 78 years and, for diehard fans, the cat will probably never be able to replace it.
"We know that cat lovers around the world will be happy to welcome the new cat token into the Monopoly game," Hasbro Gaming's Eric Nyman said when the ruling was out.
