In the first days of the new year, Michael Jackson fans had one of the most pleasant and unexpected surprises of recent months: the chance to hear a snippet of an unreleased MJ song, apparently a duet with Lenny Kravitz. As the Examiner informs, the track was recorded well before Michael’s untimely death and the finished version should probably come out officially in the following weeks.

It’s a known fact that Michael had never actually ceased working on new music, which is why it is believed that he may have left behind an estimated 100 new tracks, some of which are even completed, along with many demos and projects he had only started to work on. “Another Day,” a duet with Lenny Kravitz, could be among those 100 new completed tracks, especially since Lenny too spoke about it (albeit somewhat vaguely) a while ago, shortly after Michael’s death.

“Michael Jackson’s song ‘Another Day’ can be heard below, the video contains about 1 ½ minutes of Michael Jackson’s unreleased song. The song was leaked online Saturday. Jackson reportedly collaborated with Lenny Kravitz on the song, according to the Huffington Post,” Examiner writes. As of Sunday, the song has already caused major waves on the Internet, with fans rushing to see what Michael had been working on before he died, for what was supposedly his big comeback with a brand new album.

Speaking of working with none other than the King of Pop, Lenny was saying in 2009 that he could definitely call the experience a once in a lifetime type. “I got to work with Michael on a track that has not been released and it was the most amazing experience I’ve had in the studio. He was funny. Very funny and we laughed the whole time,” Kravitz also said in the same interview. He refused to offer more details, though, but he could have been talking about “Another Day,” of which fans can hear a fragment below.

As of now, not much else is known about the final version of the track. Still, speculation in the media has it that an official release should follow this leak, in which case confirmation that this is truly a MJ – Lenny Kravitz duet should come first. Keep an eye on this space for it and, meanwhile, enjoy the snippet below.
