Dentists can produce good dental models to better plan the treatments for their patients

Dentistry is one of the fields of medicine that 3D printing has helped the most so far, so Stratasys, one of the premier suppliers of 3D printers and related products, is building on that basis, adding to the momentum by releasing the VeroGlaze material.

VeroGlaze is a dental material which dentists can employ to create highly accurate dental models for their various patients.

The time when dental prosthetics can be made on a 3D printer is still far off, but models can be very useful in planning treatments and surgeries.

That's why dentists are likely to appreciate VeroGlaze. It's one thing to create a model out of plastic, and another to use a substance that allows for a higher resolution, toughness and texture.

Not only that, but VeroGlaze allows the models to be produced in the A2 color of teeth, the optimum hue on the teeth color map.

Sure, the ones wishing to use it will need to buy (assuming they don't already own one) an Objet EdenV or OrthoDesk 3D printer from Stratasys, but that's the deal with proprietary technologies: they tend to create closed ecosystems.

The VeroGlaze can be used in conjunction with all open intra-oral, impression and plaster scanners. It is optimized for diagnostic wax-ups, try-in veneers, crowns and bridge restorations.
