The new 17-inch, unibody MacBook Pro has seen more advertising than any of its siblings, the 13-inch MacBook and the 15-inch MacBook Pro. One aspect Apple greatly emphasizes about the notebook is the extended battery life, which is in strong relation with the greenness of the laptop.

The latest notebooks available from Apple are touted as the greenest out there. However, what was once the missing member of the Apple notebook family – the 17-inch Pro – has arrived to surpass even Mac fans' expectations.

The company's latest introduced laptop has been improved on so many levels, including battery life, that it's become the greenest of the greenest. The company headquartered in Cupertino, California, started to air a new TV ad on the new 17-inch Pro, an ad that (evidently) talks about the environmental friendliness of the notebook.

While the 17-inch unibody MacBook Pro employs the same technologies as its 13-inch and 15-inch counterparts (as well as the materials it comprises), the new device is even greener, thanks to a revolutionary battery that can last up to three more times than regular notebook batteries. Plus, the new energy storage unit boasts a truly impressive life span, ultimately leading to less batteries being thrown into the environment.

Apple has also released a making-of video for the new 17-inch MacBook Pro, with an emphasis on the system's battery. In the video, Bob Mansfield, SVP of Mac hardware, explains that the 17-inch Pro's battery has been built into the device to use up the space usually occupied by the parts required by a removable unit for energy storage.

Needless to mention, the new MacBook Pro embodies Apple’s continuing environmental commitment, having been designed with specific features to reduce the environmental impact. Some of those include arsenic-free glass, BFR-free internal components, Mercury-free LED-backlit display, PVC-free internal cables, highly recyclable aluminum and glass enclosures, and even smaller packaging.
