After yet another Broadwell delay, this is even better news than usual

When I heard not long ago that Intel had delayed the launch of its 14nm Broadwell Central Processing Units again, I was hoping that would be the only roadmap modification, but I was wrong.

Well, that's what a new report tells me, and for once I'm not all that miffed about being proven wrong because this is good news.

According to Taiwan-based DIY motherboard makers, Intel's new wave of CPUs based on the Haswell micro-architecture will come out one month early.

So that means that all those Haswell chips, over 20 of them, will come out in the second quarter of 2014, in April to be specific.

Motherboard makers are worried this will mess up their plans to digest inventories of current-generation Haswell-ready motherboards, but there's not much that can be done about that.
