Onkyo's launched quite a few interesting audio systems over time, and now, the company's back with some interesting extra additions to the fold, namely two home-theater-in-a-box systems, the 7.1-channel Onkyo HT-S5400 and 5.1-channel HT-S3400.

According to the company, both systems are built around home theater receivers offering support for 3D video, lossless audio from Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and an Audio Return Channel, as well as four HDMI inputs and one output, plus numerous extra digital and analog A/V inputs.

The two systems also include advanced amplifiers, featuring optimum gain volume and PLL jitter-cleaning circuitry, as well as a new Advanced Music Optimizer to enhance the fidelity of compressed audio files, and a convenient overlaid on-screen display for adjusting the settings.

The HT-S5400 touts two extra audio channels that enable it to support Dolby Pro Logic IIz, an audio processing technology that allows users to reconfigure the two surround-back channels as “front height” channels and increase the ambience of movies and games, as well as an USB port located on the front side that offers a direct digital connection for iPod/iPhone.

The HT-S5400 features a seven-channel speaker set consisting of mid-size, two-way front LCR speakers and four compact full-range satellites, plus a powered subwoofer and a subwoofer pre-out, and Audyssey 2EQ, which works to adjust the soundstage to the unique dimensions of the user’s listening space.

The second home theater system announced by Onkyo, the HT-S3400, is a more affordable 5.1-channel HTiB solution that loses the USB port, subwoofer pre-out, and Audyssey 2EQ, but it does include Onkyo’s proprietary Universal Port to enable single-cable connection of Onkyo peripheral devices.

The system also includes a down-firing subwoofer and five full-range surround speakers.

Last, but certainly not least, it's important to mention that the Onkyo HT-S5400 and HT-S3400 will officially arrive in stores over the course of April and will sell for $599 and $379, respectively.
