Last time we wrote about Philips, the company was trumpeting the availability of a 27-inch high-quality monitor, but now we are looking at something a bit more ambitious.

At least, we would be looking if there was actually anything for us to behold. As it is, we have to make do with a document presumably leaked to FlatpanelsHD.

To elaborate, Philips has not made the formal introduction of the two television sets we will shortly detail. The information made its way online through a leak.

The short version is that Philips will start shipping two large and mighty TV sets later this year (2012).

The longer version includes part of the specs, but not all. To start off, the names of the products are 9607 and 9707 (only product numbers, for now) and their diagonals measure 46 inches and 60 inches, respectively.

Additionally, the TVs will support 3D rendering, although no glasses-free features this once. Buyers will get active shutter glasses as part of the package.

Moving on, Philips' TVs will ship with Smart TV Premium, a platform for open standards-based apps.

Not only that, but owners of smartphones and tablets will be able to link to the TV via Wi-Fi and control it as though the mobile devices were remote controls. Streaming will be possible between them as well.

Finally, the display developer will toss in the Moth Eye filtering technology, which reduces screen reflection, ensuring visibility even when ambient lighting is brighter than optimal.

We have no pricing or availability details yet, but Philips should bring the 9607 and 9707 to this year's IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany (August 31-September 5, 2012). That information, and more, will surface then, unless the IT player decides to delay the duo a bit more for some reason or other.
