Konami, the developer of popular franchises like Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill or Pro Evolution Soccer, has released some new hellish screenshots from its newest action title, Hellboy. The game will be released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PSP consoles sometime during this summer.

Even though it is not necessary the most anticipated title of the year, the fact that the game is inspired from the comic series Dark Horse Comics and the game world is actually created by a comic book legend, Mike Mignola, we could have a good game waiting to be discovered. Also, supernatural powers, enemies that come straight from hell and non stop action are some of the features gamers love to see in their videogames, and Hellboy has plenty of them.

Hellboy offers players a visceral tactical brawling experience, letting them unleash the hero's Right Hand of Doom on wave after wave of enemies. Using a detailed fighting system, players can choose to charge up Hellboy's strikes for added power or use his speed and agility to unleash a rapid fire combination of blows on opponents. They can also grapple with enemies, attacking them from short distance or even using them as weapons to keep other attackers at bay. A classic action game, a new hero, if you want the translation of all this stuff.

"Hellboy unleashes the raw power of the comic book icon with devastating hand to hand combat, an intricate grappling system and fully destructible environments," said Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of European Product Management for Konami Digital Entertainment. "Followers of the comic book and movie will delight at controlling the sheer power their favourite sharp tongued hero offers, while fans of action games will immediately be drawn into the game's spectacular graphics and intuitive yet strategic gameplay."

We don't know anything about the gameplay yet, but you can check the game's graphics in the screenshots below:
