The teams at 343 Industries and Microsoft working on the Halo franchise are apparently exploring a new project line associated with the series and are looking for a senior producer who can play a leading role in its development.

An official job listing on the site of the company states that, “343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to help develop a new project line in the Halo universe. This is your chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry’s most talented teams.”

As always when it comes to future projects, the companies are vague when it comes to details and there’s no information about the actual nature of this new project line.

The job ad also says, “As a Publishing Senior Producer, you are core to aiding the productivity of your development partner and ensure you remove any roadblocks for them whilst driving forward and representing the project’s needs internally.”

Microsoft and 343 Industries are also saying that an external team might be involved, which could mean that this is either a game in a genre where the core studio lacks experience or another type of entertainment product.

It’s unclear when an official announcement about the new project will be made.

At the moment, 343 Industries is working on the Halo: Master Chief Collection, which is set to deliver all the classic titles in the series to the Xbox One with a variety of improvements linked both to the graphics and the core gameplay.

At the same time, the company is developing Halo 5: Guardians, the first truly next-gen title in the franchise, which is supposed to arrive in 2015 and will star Master Chief as he faces off against a new threat to human life in the galaxy.

Microsoft is also collaborating with well-known science fiction movie directors Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg in order to create a full movie and a television series based on the same game universe, both of which will be first offered to those who own the Xbox One console and subscribe to the Live service.

The Halo series has recently included such spin-offs as Spartan Wars and Halo Wars, but they failed to attract the same number of players as the core titles.

Microsoft has already said that it wants to explore a number of new ideas associated with the franchise as the Xbox One becomes a more mature platform.
