Remember that back in November, Google and HP pulled off Chromebook 11 models from BestBuy shelves? The laptops also disappeared from Google and the official HP store, before it was revealed that overheating chargers was blamed for extreme measures being taken.

Google is finally moving to resolves the woes, so now the Play Store offers a charger for the affected Chromebooks. If the original charger wasn't really a Google product, the new power pump has the Chrome logo imprinted on it.

So far, users faced with the overheating issues have been advised by Google to rely on a third-party micro USB charger, preferably one that is listed with Underwriters Laboratories and is compatible with a tablet or a smartphone. But if you don’t want to use that on your HP Chromebook, now you have an alternative.

The new Chromebook charger is listed as “Coming Soon” and when it does, it will set you back with $19.99 / €15.
