Since when does a video game look better than the real thing...?

Jeez Louise, have you seen the latest Gran Turismo 5 Prologue trailers? As a fan, you won't be able to decide what you like best about this upcoming installment in the PlayStation-exclusive driving-simulation series. Even the music is just out of this world, while the cockpit view looks better than the real thing.

In fact, the whole trailer looks better than the real thing (click HERE to download and watch the main one) and you'll get your chance for a comparison too, right HERE. The latter is a making-of kind-of-thing with the real Nissan GT-R as the protagonist. Sure the whole video is in Japanese, but it doesn't take an expert to see what they did and how they did it. The GT 5 Prologue trailer though isn't in Japanese, but more "in" minimal-techno/house music with a touch of electronic rock.

How about that Nissan GT-R though? Is that the single best looking car ever made by the Japanese manufacturer, or what? It shines on the track even with that black "nose job", while its engine roars like a hungry tiger. But leaving the real cars aside, what do you think of the GT 5 Prologue trailer? Everything in it simply screams Gran Turismo, starting with music and ending with car physics. For instance, check out the part where the Dodge Viper GTS is featured entering that S band. A split second of visual information is all you're looking for - suspensions and inertia is all we need to say - but it's more than enough to make an impression about how car physics are in GT 5 Prologue.

Leaving that aside, what's the next best thing you can think of when watching the trailer...? Looks of course! If Sony didn't know how to squeeze the PS3 of all it's worth, who would? HERE's the series' creator saying a few words about this. I hear that the company is not doing so good lately, probably even dropping the PlayStation brand for good. Can't say I'm happy about it but I sure am happy they managed to finish GT 5. Call me selfish, but that's what every GT fan will tell you.
