This year, the blockbuster summer season is being kicked off in style and on a huge scale, with a reboot of “Godzilla,” directed by Gareth Edwards. A brand-new trailer has been released, showing more of the monster’s origin and, at the same time, including the best look at it so far.

You will find it embedded below.

Most of the previews for the film have focused so far on the chaos that breaks once the monster arrives in the city, so this most recent marks a change in that. On the same note, all the other trailers barely showed Godzilla, except for a body part or a blurred view through the dust and smoke.

This one finally includes the “money shot”: it might not be a very clear look at the monster in full, but it’s the best so far.

“Godzilla” stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe and Juliette Binoche and, this new trailer confirms, it will focus as much on the human element as it will on the grand-scale destruction brought on by the monster.

I for one am very hyped for this. What about you? Will you be buying tickets for it when it comes out?
